HOLIDAY TRAVEL DURING COVID-19
Chicago residents are strongly advised to avoid all non-essential, out-of-state travel. If you are traveling during the holidays, remember to follow all guidelines and restrictions during your trip. Quarantining upon return is strongly recommended as well as practicing social distancing, wearing face covering and avoid touching surfaces frequently touched by others.
If you plan on being away from your residence for an extended period of time, please remember to leave your heat set no lower than 55 degrees to prevent freezing/burst pipes.
HOLIDAY GATHERINGS DURING COVID-19
While we understand and sympathize with our residents during these tough times brought upon all of us, unable to spend time with our family and friends especially during the holidays, we ask that you comply with city and state orders to avoid any gatherings in your home with anybody outside of your household. Use remote modes of communication instead of hosting family and friends gatherings, especially during the holiday season. Please remember to extend special courtesy and consideration to nearby neighbors. Also, please remember that you are responsible for the actions of your guests while they visit the building.
HOLIDAY PACKAGE DELIVERY
It is typical to see an increase in package delivery this time of year. It is strongly recommended that you have parcels either delivered to your place of work, require a signature for delivery, or have them shipped to a secure nearby location, such as a UPS Access Point, FedEx locker, or Amazon Hub Locker.
Pick up suggestions:

An accumulation of packages in a building lobby is not only visually unappealing, it is also an invitation to thieves. If you do have something delivered to the building, we recommend having them delivered at a date and time that you will be home so that you can pick it up right away. The longer they sit in the building entrance, the better chance they have of being stolen.
CHRISTMAS TREES
Remember to be courteous bringing in and removing Christmas trees. Please only transport trees in a tree bag to avoid scuffing walls, dripping sap or leaving needles in the common areas.
Tree Bag Suggestions:
For disposal, please consider recycling your Christmas tree. Not only will you give back to the environment, but you will also reduce our landfill deposits. Program details and recycling locations may be found here:
HOLIDAY PLUMBING USE
The holiday season can be especially rough on the plumbing system in the building. Increased or improper use of kitchen drains and garbage disposals can lead to unnecessarily clogged common drain lines and back-ups. Please be sure to limit the materials put through garbage disposals. No grease or starchy/expanding foods (like potatoes, rice or pasta) should ever be put down drains or in disposals. All of these items quickly contribute to buildups in the drain lines.
Please remember that ONLY toilet paper can be flushed down the toilet. Do not flush Kleenex, feminine products or baby wipes ever. Even if they say they are flushable, they are not — they clog our system and cause plumbing backup.
FURNACE MAINTENANCE AND SMOKE DETECTORS
Please remember to changes furnace filters every 60 days. Clogged filters inhibit the operation of the heating system and cause costly repairs. Also, test your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors and add new batteries if needed.
HOLIDAY CLEAN-UP
All trash must be placed inside the dumpsters in the alley area. Excessive garbage in and around the dumpsters is not only unsightly but will attract unwanted pests. In addition, please break down all cardboard boxes before disposal.
